Guardiola Ready To Raid Arsenal For Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta

Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is targeting an ambitious transfer swoop for three of Arsenal’s first team players, according to reports. Guardiola, still in charge of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, has confirmed plans to leave Germany in order to replace Manuel Pellegrini in the hot seat at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the current season.

The former Barcelona boss is expected to make wholesale changed to the City squad this summer, their lackluster domestic performances so far this season has seen them fall out of Premier League title contention behind Arsenal, Spurs and Leicester.

Given his desire to implement his experimental and free-flowing style of football, Guardiola is already concerned about meeting the league rules regarding home-grown players in their first team squad and has identified Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta as potential targets, according to Football Insider.

Wales international Ramsey, who signed a new five-year-deal in March 2014, has already been linked with a move to Manchester City after finding himself often played out of position by Arsene Wenger who deployed the central midfielder in a wide position.

Oxlade-Chamberlain meanwhile, currently battling a knee injury sustained against Barcelona in the Champions League, has struggled to progress in recent months under Wenger and failed to secure a first team place.

The links to current captain Mikel Arteta offer a different interest to Guardiola who has a desire to recruit Premier League experience to his coaching squad. Arteta is out of contract in the summer and is thought to be considering retirement.
