Arsenal Considering Signing World Cup Finalist, Vida

It's widely reported that Arsenal are ready to offer a fee in the region of £25 million to get Croatia international Domagoj Vida to the Premier League before the transfer window closes on Thursday August 9 – two days before the 2018/19 Premier League season begins.
Arsenal new manager Unai Emery is looking forward to strengthening his defense before the inception of the new season. However the only way a deal can happen is if the club let go of either Shkodran Mustafi or Danny Welbeck.

Domagoj Vida came into the limelight at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup having played six of the seven of Croatia's matches in at the World Cup and scored in their quarter-finals match against Russia, the host.
His stat at the World Cup reads:
35 Clearances
4 Blocks
10 Interceptions
Tackles 60% Success rate
Duels 51.2% Success rate
Aerial duels 48.3% Success rate
315 Total passes, 266 Successful passes, 45 Passes per 90 mins
Passes 84.4% Success rate
2 Fouls won, 2 Fouls conceded, 1 Yellow cards.

Now to be realistic here, Domagoj Vida is good, not really that exceptional but he's good and he did very well at the just concluded World Cup in Russia.
However Arsenal does not lack central defenders and has already brought in a player in that position this summer; Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.

Just like Arsenal every season, our players are already getting injured right befor the season starts, it's no longer surprising when it happens, injured Laurent Koscielny will miss the start of the season after undergoing surgery in May, and Emery is "not convinced by options at his disposal: Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Rob Holding.

However Arsenal are not the only club interested in the signature of the 29 year old Croatian, as clubs like Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Galatasaray are all interested.

Vida is an experienced, physical defender who is very dominate and comfortable in the air and looks well suited to the energy demands of the Premier League.
Moving to the Premier League before the transfer window closes looks likely but with so many clubs after his signature, Arsenal can expect not to have it served them in a platter of gold.
